What we obtain.
There is a small set of commercial credentials almost every serious US business eventually needs. Each one unlocks a different door: federal contracts, large vendors, regulated product sales, supplier networks. We request them on your behalf and track them through to issuance.
- DUNS number, the global business identifier issued by Dun & Bradstreet
- RN (Registered Identification Number), issued by the FTC for textile, wool, and fur products
- SAM.gov registration for federal contracting
- State-specific business licenses (where the industry requires one)
- Trade-specific certifications (food handling, alcohol resale, etc.)
Tell us what your company is trying to sell and to whom; we tell you which credentials the receiving party will actually look for.

DUNS and RN, the two most common.
The DUNS number is the most-requested credential we file. Issued by Dun & Bradstreet, it functions as a global identifier for companies, the way an EIN identifies you to the IRS. Federal contractors, large enterprise vendors, and many trade databases ask for it before opening an account with you.
The RN is more specialized. The Federal Trade Commission requires that any US company selling textiles, wool, or fur products label them with either the company name or an RN. Smaller brands often prefer the RN since it is shorter than a full company name on a clothing tag.
We handle both filings, the DUNS application with Dun & Bradstreet and the RN application with the FTC. Both can be done remotely; neither requires you to be in the US.

How we deliver.
We start with what you're trying to do: who is asking for the credential, why, and what does the gatekeeper actually need. Sometimes the answer is a credential you don't have yet; sometimes it is one you already have under a different name.
Once the right credential is identified, we file the application, supply the supporting documents, and track the issuance. When the certificate arrives, we deliver the digital and original copies to you and update your record so we can renew it when needed.

Questions
Frequently asked
What is a DUNS number?
A DUNS (Data Universal Numbering System) number is a 9-digit business identifier issued by Dun & Bradstreet. It's used by suppliers, lenders, and the federal government to identify your company. Many large vendors and SAM.gov registration require it.
What is an RN number?
A Registered Identification Number (RN) is issued by the Federal Trade Commission to US-based companies that sell textile, wool, or fur products. It substitutes for a company name on product labels.
Are DUNS numbers free?
Yes. Dun & Bradstreet issues DUNS numbers at no cost; the application takes about 30 days. We charge for the time and care of preparing the application correctly so it isn't kicked back, and for tracking the issuance.
What other certificates can Prodezk help me get?
Beyond DUNS and RN, we handle SAM.gov registration for federal contracts, state business licenses for industries that require them, and assorted niche certificates that vary by sector. Tell us what you're trying to do and we'll tell you what credential the gatekeeper actually wants.
Do I need any of these to operate?
It depends on what you sell and to whom. A DUNS number is rarely required to start, but becomes important when working with US enterprise clients, banks, or the federal government. An RN is only required if you sell textile or fur products in the US.
