What it is.
An Amazon Seller account is your standing within Amazon's marketplace. Once approved, it lets you list products, manage inventory, fulfill orders, and receive payments through Amazon's infrastructure.
The account is tied to your US business entity (LLC or Corporation), and payments are deposited into your US business bank account. From the customer's perspective, they buy from Amazon; from your perspective, Amazon collects the payment and pays you on a regular schedule.
It works the same whether you are selling from a warehouse in Texas, a 3PL in California, or shipping units to Amazon's own FBA fulfillment centers.

Why founders open one.
Amazon offers two things no other marketplace matches at the same scale: the customer base and the fulfillment infrastructure. Sellers need build neither. They connect to what already exists.
- Direct access to over 300 million Amazon customers worldwide
- Built-in trust: Amazon's customer reviews and Prime badge accelerate first-time buyer conversion
- Optional FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) for end-to-end logistics, customer service, and returns
- Multi-country selling from a single seller central account (Amazon US, Canada, Mexico, EU, UK)
- Sponsored Products advertising platform built into the same dashboard
- Direct payment to your US business bank account on a 14-day cycle
The considerations are Amazon's per-sale fees and the requirement to compete within Amazon's ecosystem. For most sellers, the access to that customer base more than justifies the fees.

How we set it up.
We start by confirming your business entity and bank account are in order. Amazon requires a US LLC or Corporation, an EIN, a US business bank account, and identification. If any of those are missing, we set them up first.
Then we file the seller account application with Amazon, submitting your business documents, identity verification, and tax information. Most accounts are approved within 1 to 4 weeks; some categories require additional verification.
- Business entity (LLC or Corporation) with EIN
- US business bank account
- Government-issued photo ID for the account owner
- Credit card valid for international charges
- Phone number Amazon can use to verify the account
- Tax identification (W-9 for US owners, W-8 for non-resident owners; ITIN coordinated if required)

Questions
Frequently asked
Can a non-resident open an Amazon seller account?
Yes. Amazon allows sellers from over 100 countries to register on the US marketplace. The seller account is tied to the US business entity, not to the founder's nationality.
Do I need an LLC or Corporation to sell on Amazon?
Not strictly. You can sell as an individual, but selling under a US LLC or Corporation gives access to better banking, payment processing, and tax treatment. Most serious sellers form an entity first.
What is the difference between Individual and Professional accounts?
Individual accounts pay $0.99 per item sold, no monthly fee, and have limited features. Professional accounts pay $39.99/month and unlock advanced selling tools, analytics, advertising, and Buy Box eligibility. Most sellers move to Professional within the first year.
Does the service include the Amazon monthly fee?
No. Our fee covers the account setup. Amazon's monthly subscription ($39.99 for the Professional plan) and per-item fees are paid separately to Amazon.
How long does the account approval take?
Once the documents are submitted to Amazon, approval typically takes 1 to 4 weeks. Some categories (gated categories like beauty or grocery) require additional verification and can take longer.
Will Amazon ask for an ITIN?
If you are a non-resident and the company is owned by you personally (not by a US entity), Amazon may request an ITIN for tax reporting. We coordinate the ITIN application as part of the setup if needed.
