What is it for?

It's possible that at some point you will be asked for a certificate that verifies that the company is active, and up to date with the state obligations.

In addition to validating the existence of an LLC or Corporación, the Certificate of Good Standing also validates that this company is authorized to carry out operations in the state.

This certificate contains the Seal and Signature of the Secretary of State, which gives it validity against any entity in which it is presented.
